Is there nothing left for you that is held in reverence
You have torn the spirit out of the one who stood in defiance
No matter how you plead you have destroyed me
For bits of jingle and bands of gold in to captivity am I sold?
As it has been done from days of old
Golden hair deepest blue eyes
All the words that you speak are are insanity and lies
Please come to me we can have some fun
Hold each other as we were one
All I am drained…sucked out and gone away
Hope fully you will be with me for some time
This race we run is just our lives we’ve been dealt to play
Draw win or lose with me you need to stay
I see the defiance in your eyes
But it’s to yourself that you lie
All I have believed in is gone at your words … I will try
I am strung so high on waiting for you if you don’t show I will die
There is nothing left in me but you

Someone with depth, it must be a miracle! I really loved this poem. I think it quenched a part of my soul, now hows that for a comment!
Truly well done,

Good stuff, a strong sense of desperation in this one. I could really feel the tension and confusion. Metaphors of a love/hate relationship. I think the ending would have worked better without the repetition, however.
Nice entry, thanks. -

i was a little dubious about the repitious ending myself but i wanted to Hone on the point of how it was only them in my mind and drew a blank except for the resounding BUT YOU
