In a mournful red ocean of tears
In a desperate music of cries
At a time when all hope disappears
When all belief creepingly dies
When red is a symbol of war
And love it no longer portrays
Don’t let your skin harden to core
Join for all good our race
The race of which i speak has never an end
Its an infinite, ancient battlefield
We,sure, will be scarred in our pain's blend
But in the end of the run, we'll be healed
So for the long term goal
For a prospect of happiness and peace
Join to fight should we all
To maybe later find bliss
And perhaps we shall never find Eden
But at least a life we should find
We should ban sins so forbidden
And purefy life in our mind
...................................
Fight and into our sacred vessel
Add your own kindness dose
And tell those you love that you love them
And send all your loved ones a rose...
In a desperate music of cries
At a time when all hope disappears
When all belief creepingly dies
When red is a symbol of war
And love it no longer portrays
Don’t let your skin harden to core
Join for all good our race
The race of which i speak has never an end
Its an infinite, ancient battlefield
We,sure, will be scarred in our pain's blend
But in the end of the run, we'll be healed
So for the long term goal
For a prospect of happiness and peace
Join to fight should we all
To maybe later find bliss
And perhaps we shall never find Eden
But at least a life we should find
We should ban sins so forbidden
And purefy life in our mind
...................................
Fight and into our sacred vessel
Add your own kindness dose
And tell those you love that you love them
And send all your loved ones a rose...

This is fascinating. What a great concept and how true the use of red has been corrupted somewhat because it is the color of blood. You do know that using red for love is based on the color of blood because it was thought that love existed in the liquid humors -- or the blood. That is why the heart is associated with love and that is why lovers used to cut their palms and press their bleeding hands together. This was to become "one blood." In fact, at one time this sharing of blood was part of the marriage ritual and the married couple would cut themselves and let the blood drip into a cup and mix it with wine and drink it.
But, I certainly understand what you mean. Maybe it is the meaning of blood that has changed. Once a symbol of life, it seems now to be a symbol of death and despair because so many people cut on themselves. And there is this whole vampire chic that pervades all things.
But, this is an excellent poem. Talent you have in great measure and skill you are acquiring rapidly. You seem to be a born writer. This poem is just one example.

amazing
I really, truly loved this poem...it's very intriguing and beautiful. I really needed to read it because I'm currently in a time of battle in need to see past it all to the love that a red rose can also symbolize...tnx -
Liked the rhtyhm, rhyme and flow of this poem; looks as if it was exactly what the host wanted too. Congrats on your gold in this contest. Red now has another meaning as well as the beauty it is in a rose.

Congrats on the gold trophy. This was very romantic.
I think that it was slightly choppy here and there... but overall you expressed much passion and honesty. Another thing I liked is that it had a lot of creativity and personality.
Well done.

Good job!!! This poem is amazing.....I am glad you beat me, for these words are sooo true. Red is love, and also full of hate, and we CAN do something to create peace. Bravo!!!!!

Thank you for this great entry to the contest. You really entered into the prompt picture, and your response to it is a revelation to me. When you read the contest notes, you will see how close you came to the spirit in which it was made. Poetically a good work, made with loving care. My favourite line is the final one - we should all do that, all the time. Great use of red, too, thanks.
