A damask demon snake,
Sneaking aloft the gardens' wall.
Scaling with much envy,
Inherited in Satans' fall.
Blending in amongst the lines and patterns we see as such,
But a saints' eye can spot him in an instant minute.
The advocate of sin, brimstone tainted skin,
It wills itself along
In his scheme to dethrone Him.
Beware, beware
The snake sits 'neath the bush.
Walk the smaller path,
Shrinking from the fruit which appears to be so lush.

Thank you for this entry, and your fine response to the prompt. I like it that you used red, to align with the picture. Your words are strong and brave, my favourite line /But a saints' eye can spot him in an instant minute/ The final stanza rings prophetic to me. Well done.

I like this.
It LOOKS complicated and as if one wont understand it but really it has a great message. I specially like that last stanza cause that is true and it is basicly what the Bible says...and somewhat what happened at the garden of eden. And it is necessary indeed to walk the smaller path which won't lead us astray. Great write.
