My conscienceness betrays me..My mind is now on hold
I watch thru eyes distorted for the story to unfold
I feel no grand emotion, a numbness now presides
How many more are like this, I'm dead, but still alive.
Oh carelessness, why did you rob me of my wanton joy?
What happened to the other me you're trying to destroy?
And what if I discover that I'm stronger once again?
Will you then hide inside me..waiting for my end?
The cords of life within me emit a yellow hue
so lifeless, so colorless,I want no more of you
Please go away and let me be, I cannot bear the pain
It hurts me more to have you here, my life is not the same
For I prayed to my God..and await his reply.
yet does the answer lie hidden inside?
Oh ye of fear, and faithlessness,
What do you say today?
You doubted so, and worried though bent your knee to pray
Do you not see your foolishness, the error of your way?
Cast off the veil of gloominess, so dawns a new day.
We often ask in prayer for a little intervention
but keep our burdens close at hand, thwarting God's intention
and when our prayers are answered, we tend to forget
that we will need him once again, life's not over yet.

A question only too many people ask. My only critique is the speelling of the word consiousness. I'm not sure exactly how to spell it either as you can tell, but it's still not right. Also to keep your writing professional you should spell out the word through instead of just saying "thru". Thank you for entering and good luck in my contest.
