Ode to Doorstep Christianity

Bow down before the lord your god,
Your king, your prince of peace,
With thorny crown, upon his cross,
The power to make it cease.
Yet impotent and powerless,
Upon the tree he died;
While those who believed his sugared lies
Fell to their knees and cried.

He died for you; believers say,
So you can play your part,
Rather play the fool to the touch of guilt,
They place within your heart,
“’Twas for the evils of mankind,
(though ‘twas god who made us such)
That we must for our sins, redemption find
And accept the old priest’s touch.

What god could make such madness?
What god could make such pain?
If god has claim to these preachy fucks,
He can have them back again!

Get off my doorstep and take your book,
Your tome of hollow words,
Take your robes and your shepherd’s crook,
Go tend to your fucking herds.
Leave me to my lifestyle of decay,
My altar; at the mirror,
To the gods of pleasure, I do pray,
No self-denial here.

I’ll fucking worship whom I please,
Now rise my son, up off your kness,
And lick my seed from guilty lips,
Catch with your tongue the falling drips,
And know that father god is pleased;
As guilty child becomes diseased,
And guilt, you sheep, with fleece now black,
Is what gives god power and brings you back.

Author notes

The second of my poems written in my 'Manson Phase.'  This one still makes me laugh...  It was written early in the morning whilst I was under the influence of a variety of substances.  I really have nothing against christians... indeed as a Dark Neo-Pagan, I respect the Christian faith for what it has to offer.  At the point I wrote this though; I was readily embracing satanic ideology and was rather... dogmatic in my approach to Christians who would attemt to sway me from the path of darkness.  And so; this poem came about.

lmao, excellent! I truly enjoyed it. It speaks a lot of what i believe in. I dont condone religion of any kind and respect none either, However! I respect those who choose to follow whatever religion it is they follow, cause freedom of choice is important (one of the reasons im opposed to religion!) Anywho, i love this poem, and i love that you could write it

Welbis, evolution does not have problems what you need to understand is that evolution is a fact, not theory, and that what is at issue within biology are questions of details of the process and the relative importance of different mechanisms of evolution (that’s the theoretical part).

It is a fact that the earth with liquid water is more than 3.6 billion years old. It is a fact that cellular life has been around for at least half of that period and that organized multi-cellular life is at least 800 million years old. It is a fact that major life forms now on earth were not at all represented in the past. There were no birds or mammals 250 million years ago. It is a fact that major life forms of the past are no longer living. There used to be dinosaurs and Pithecanthropus, and there are none now. It is a fact that all living forms come from previous living forms. Therefore, all present forms of life arose from ancestral forms that were different. Birds arose from nonbirds and humans from nonhumans.

“how did conscious evolve, and how was the very 1st piece of dust created - its ok to believe what you want.”
This is were theoretical part comes in, theories of natural selection etc. But this does not by any means disprove the fact that evolution has accrued. Take the law of gravity, we know it’s a fact, however explaining exactly how gravity works would be theoretical. Newtown was proven wrong by Einstein, but that did not suspend apples in the mid-air, the fact of gravity still remained, just like the fact of evolution.

    "evolution also has many problems.."

    Like?

    "how did conscious evolve"

Consciousness? Sticky subject, but consciousness itself is hard to lay a finger on. Hardly makes a valid criticism of evolution. Not knowing how protons formed wouldn't make physics any less useful.

"and how was the very 1st piece of dust created"

What does that have to do with evolution? And it was probably from an exploding star shrug.

"its ok to believe what you want..christianity gives every1 that choice and doesnt try and take it away from you!"

it's okay, but if you don't make a single, exclusive choice out of a potentially infinite amount of choices, you burn in hell for all eternity. Yeah, sounds okay to me. And while it may be true "Christianity" doesn't try to take away your choices in and of itself, its followers sure as hell do.

    Disturbing

I've read a LOT of anti-christian poetry, but I can tell you that this is the only bit of it that I've both liked and actually disturbed me. Sadly I think all the churchies who've diluted the true nature of Christianity deserve this poem...thought at its heart I think it like most religions is good. I see you're a runemal. Good to see another.

    Thank thee kindly!

I have actually considered publishing my work... but I have yet to find a magazine or other such publication that is willing to print the works of teen writers that falls into this category (or just deals in general with the macabre) If you know of anything... pass it along please.

aye youve got poetic talent...although whether or not you agree with christianity or not has no affect on whether or not it is true... - if its true then denying it doesnt make it untrue, and whether or not its likely or not doesnt affect its legitamacy anyway....evolution also has many problems..namely, how did conscious evolve, and how was the very 1st piece of dust created - its ok to believe what you want..christianity gives every1 that choice and doesnt try and take it away from you!

    Awesome

This is awesome - despite the fact that I disagree with its ideology, I am powerfully moved by the angst of it. There is much that is true in this one and much that is true of our universal questing and questioning of God's motives. You have great talent, and if you haven't already, should probably publish. Thanks so much for sharing this amazing journey.
