Abstain from Holiness

INDULGE
Answer to the cries,
INDULGE
Things that righteousness denies,
INDULGE
Gorge your spirit,
Slake your thirst,
Drink deep; feed long,
Until you burst.
First admit the hunger,
Then hearken to its call,
The mindless art of gluttony;
The angel cannot fall.
So revel in the virgin flesh
Smoke wafting through the silky mesh
And drink another, smoke another
Fuck another,
Mindless lover,
You are a god,
There is no other…

So just indulge.

Author notes

This is the first of two poems I wrote whilst going through my 'Manson Phase.'  While I like the way it sounds when read (or sung) aloud... It lacks potency on paper.  There actually is a rhyme scheme... if you can't grasp it, don't worry... it's not really meant to be read... it's meant to be heard.  Strictly an auditory poem.

Congrats on an excellant poem (as far as rhythm and style are concerned). I was a little confused by the content though, was it meant to say that you are a god? untouchable?..It is a very well-written poem nonetheless...please explain the meaning behind it though. thanks
