Soft light finds warming heart,
moon low and touching curve of East,
boldly climbing from shadow of day
great silver circle of coming night;
and words of welcome rise
like wings to stir stillness,
amber ship sailing slowly
nascent night welcomes its pride.
Tenderness in rich moments
and she is the orb of my night
gentle light that fills darkness
and makes even starless skies beautiful,
painting clouds in pale treasures
light and shadow upon world all around
adorns a gilded face of desire
and pale glow becomes her smile.
Lost lyrics of evening songs find
whispered winds, echo so easy
as sweetness sounds upon itself;
'til silence of eyes make answer.
