A Comedy of Errors ...

A comedy of errors - I felt,
as I drifted in and out.

Sat alone ~ beside myself,
as joy of life with scene did meld.
I pondered over years that passed
until I touched what graced the glass.

A mirrored pane of my reflection
showing where and when perfection,
came and waltzed me through the years
while life caressed both sweet and tears.

Each rising sun and setting moon,
the stars and dreams all gone too soon.
The past - The present - Primed regrets,
with future hopes - the Best of Bets.

So now I toast to all I’ve shared,
my friends and family that cared.
To face all facts with open mind,
to keep that ego well aligned.

To just let go … then say my prayers,
life is ~ a comedy of errors!

Very well put; you brought out your thoughts perfectly I think; with an impeccable rhyme; im impressed - i often struggle to find the right words & context for words such as 'mind' and what not, for rhyming them.

Really enjoyed reading this; thanks for recommending it to me!

"perfection came and waltzed me through the years" - what a beautiful line. Life is indeed a comedy of errors but sometimes I find that hard to remember. Thank you for reminding me. There really is so much beauty and laughter all around us.

Slightly weird last rhyme, but good poem. Puts me in the mood of new years thoughts. This is enjoyable.

    I like this..............

alot!!! A great analogy of life and the trial and errors if you will, that we all go through and getting a little older looking back on many regrets but alos on happy memories as well.I love the imagery it took me back to my "glory days" when I was younger, thinner and much prettier. It is always nice to re-visit those tender days of young before the reality of this life really sets in and you have to be an adult...lol...just a great piece you have written here and Thanks for sharing!!!~~Toni~~

Amazing..... how you find words just for thoughts of one person. I can see the lady in the picture thinking about her past with joy and regret, because life is a comedy of errors. One remark: Do you perhaps mean "The Best of Bests" (fouth stanza)? Very well done.

I guess the New Year is a time of reflection; a time to reassess our lives, jettison the baggage of the past and move forward. Your well-written poem made me think on all those things.

    Cheers,
    Bill
