I Know

And so I wait,
not with baited breath;
with resigned patience.

Seats appear to be empty,
the air may not resound with applause,
time is ticking steadily by.

No word has yet passed my lips,
all emotion is coiled,
perspiration glistens on expectant brow.

I know ...

Each of those seats are full,
applause fills the auditorium,
time stands still as if in awe.

Here, right now, encore,
as I re-live in my mind,
my performance of a lifetime.

    Very Good

    This piece is full of emotion and the author uses his skills to bring the experience alive in the reader's mind with gentle, yet vivid clarity. Special moments that kindle the imagination and stir the heart are what make life worth living and poems worth writing. You captured a personal moment in time and shared it with us all.

    I love how you brought her imagination to life with this piece because that is exactly who she is! Somehow you were really able to capture her essence and her thoughts in the picture. Fabulous job. Thank you for entering and good luck.
