Day In The Sun

Missing image
Just laying in my hammock fair
breathing in the country air
reading famous birdie books
while trying to tan my fairish looks.

When suddenly out of my snooze
a smaller birdie breaks my muse
landing with an awful thump
making my whole tummy jump.

Bleary eyed my head shoots up
"what do you want you cheeky pup?
Can't you see I'm reading here
now off you go my little dear!".

Off he flies in great disgust
when suddenly I think I'll combust
while flying off he left a present
it's white and gooey, not very pleasant!

So there you have it, day's gone 'splat'
and I'm not wearing my sun hat,
my head is red from too much sun
I think this birdie's overdone!

Wow what a lovely poem. Wonderful flow of words. I like the little birdie that turdie. In Maine years ago I was laying out on the beach. A sea gull let go on me. They say its lucky because 1 in a 100 get terd on. I didn't feel lucky that day.

Sue looked for the most neutral picture possible for this, to write a poem to it was a wonderful surprise and a very enjoyable read. Great to see you in the top of most rounds, I hope you can move up into the big prizes in the remaining rounds, looking forward to seeing you try!
Thanks very much for this entry.
