By the Cat’s Eye

Missing image

My lady bathes in tranquility;

serenity lays down her bed;

and my eyes, ever upon her

swirling, bubbling destiny,

                                                   protect her.

Many a weary traveler has stopped ~

felt whispers of her song,

gazed, dazed by her beauty

to tempted fate of wet lips.

I have stood guard a hundred lives,

                                   seldom tasted blood,

with purrrfect devotion

my lady caresses my neck,

endlessly loving me.

    ah, I see the cat now, in green, pawing at her neckline and purring into her hair. A very creative eye you have - glad you directed me there. I like the idea of the protection you put forth - he is like her totem. Very nice, thank you.

    Well, I see the cat there, or wolf depending on your view. I too represented that figure within my piece and thought the photo wonderful inspiration. Here, you give a quiet "steath" to woodland guardians...
    keeping watch over lady's flowing form. Blue

      mmm I will reread yours, In my mind the image was set as a cat so I did not catch yours. but, your piece needs no help though i will be pleased to see the figure represented.

    I love this poem right up to
    "I have stood guard a hundred lives,

    seldom tasted blood,

    with purrrfect devotion

    my lady caresses my neck,

    endlessly loving me.
    " and then I was lost a little...it seemed to be an add-on and I could not keep the iamge that had built.I was so into Mother Earth and a joining.

      well it is the image of the cat in the rocks I am referring to; an aspect of the image no one seemed to see past the lady. but all is good thanks for the comments

        The cat was actually the first thing I saw I found it a bit harder to see the lady...

        Nice poem also.
        Did wonder how you managed to enter it into your own contest.

    Beautiful poem. You captured the essence of a waterfall most elegantly.
