Six Elders , their backs creating a sacred space
Stand on a floor of earth hues contemplating
Love and peace lost to great familial discord
Reflected in our warring ways everywhere
The inner circle they protect holds the essence
Of those tortured in all ways within their family
Creating a vortex of energy sent forward
To the unwitting soldiers known as children
Parental units insist children have weapons
They must guard against, justifying disrespect,
Invasions of privacy and lies for a greater cause
They create destruction to ward off destruction
There are only a few left who have eyes to see
They increase their power but not with campaigns
The wounded and the worn look for rest
Finding it within the sacred space hewn with care

thank you for your entry and your inspired reaction to the prompt picture. What you saw is what is there - when you read the contest notes, you will understand. Hairs stand up on the back of my neck. My favourite lines /love and peace lost to great familial discord/
/the inner circle they protect holds the essence/ and /the sacred space hewn with care/

Thank you
I found the stained glass inspiring because of the shapes and colors. I appreciate the recognition.
