Let me forget, for just one night
stripped of recollection
and any of its power.
Let my lids drop in sighs of peace
instead of closed against it all.
Rest, and not a single name for fight
Hope, and not a single desperation within its cry.
For one, for just one slice of time,
let me fall asleep before the sickness of exhaustion
wrapped in moonlight and my own curved smile.

    This reads sort of like a prayer 'n it's a very sincere wish/prayer at that. I like this piece even though it's a quickie...you still do a good job of expressing yourself! )
