I'm a very long way from home
Farther than I would care to roam,
Yet I am here none the less
Stuck here in aweful frigidness,
The still night air as dark as coal
Winter's breath biting at my soul,
Holding onto my dimming light
Almost hidden from sigh,
On the horizon lay a shimmering glow
Burning away at the freezing snow,
And with it my hopes and dreams
Just when hope is not to be seen,
Then I recall those words to the wise
"It is coldest just before the sunrise,
and for every day of summer light
We must suffer one more harsh winternight"
