Frozen in place
Leaves, still green
Clinging desperately
To the trees.
Ice covered branches
Bending under the weight.
Sunlight sparkles in the
early morning creating
a kaleidescope of colour.
Water begins to drip
Splattering upon the
Ground, creating an
oasis for the birds
that flock to the
telephone wires overhead.
The light fades into night
and once again the hard
cold winds blow, changing
the landscape to a desert
carved in snow.
