That a king was born to a virgin in a manger filled with hay.
A king who was born with a destiny to die by choice.
He had spoken of his death to many who had heard his voice.
The living god to be sacrificed as a lamb.
The redemption of sin was his father's plan.
He had spoken of love right up until the day of his death.
Forgiveness of those who killed him until he took his last breath.
Son of god?
Son of man?
Was his death really a plan?
I don't know if this man known as Christ was truly a king.
The redeemer of sin, of whom religious people sing.
I don't really know if there were thorns put on his head.
Not entirely sure if he even rose from the dead.
One thing that I know is that he changed the world's eyes.
Seeing his death on a cross can still make a man cry.
I say to you if there is no heaven and hell was just a story.
I still believe this man existed and tried to show us all glory.

Thank you
This is a great poem on the crucifixion with a good the rhyme scheme (‘aa, bb, cc, dd’
But I was looking for an ode
.
Check your punctuation.
Son of god? would read better as ‘Son of God?’ and so is ‘Son of Man’
Thank you for entering
Keep writing.
I wish you the very best

great poem, you kept my atention at all times i especially liked the way you ended this,
"I don't know if this man known as Christ was truly a king.

I don't really know if there were thorns put on his head.
Not entirely sure if he even rose from the dead.

very nice, thank you for entering and good luck =) -
Great poem, your a finalist.

Wow! That was very good! I, personally, have to say that I do believe that both heaven and hell exist, and that Jesus died on the cross to pardon our sins! I believe that Jesus' death was planned from the very day the earth was created. If I am right, I save myself from eternal damnation, and ensure a place in heaven; if I am wrong, (which I don't think I am) the worst I ever did was try to live a life of peace and show others that peace. This was a very good poem, thank you for showing it to me!

This is a well written poem. "I still believe this man existed and tried to show us all glory." stands out to me the most. Believing in what we can't see and learning from the stories we are told about Christ.
A good poem. Thanks for your entry.

I see this piece has already garnered a couple awards and rightly so. This was a wonderful read and heartfelt! He has indeed changed the worlds view of him... even those who doubt still believe in his presence on earth! Thanks for entering and best wishes,

This was a great poem and I can see that by the awards that it has that it was well received

And though I also liked it I felt it told more of a story of his life then the prompt He Has Risen. Never the less I truly enjoyed what it had to say.
Thanks for joining in.
Warm thoughts.

it was good
definitely well written :-)

-
a very literal take on it... I like it...the curiosity and the questions defintely make this piece...although I think 'whom' instead of 'who' should have been used in line 13. That's my only complaint.

This is an amazing piece....

Wow.
For a person that doesn't know if Jesus was real,
for a person that doesn't beleive you sure can write good about Him without bashering Him and I am proud of you for that. But I do pray that one day you know Him, that one day you can come to Him and realize that He indeed rose from the dead. Thanks for the entry.

This is really good. I like that you give a vivid portrayal of the life of Jesus, and then went to to say what you think about it. Good flow, goof form. Thanks for entering my contest and good luck.

I truly hope that someday you can know that you know this man known as Jesus Christ as your personal savior. Yes, He is full of glory but He is so much more.
There are a few tiny edits needed:
l.4 - spoken
l.6 - father's
l.16 - world's
Thanks so much for you entry in our contest.

By far the best one I got for this option. I am a fence sitter so to speak when it comes to God. I believe somethings but not others. I really like this one. I really enjoyed reading it. Thanks so much for entering and good luck.
