If You Were Led
If you were led by leaders then your lot would better be,
But you are lost with lunatics; you gagged 'Land of the free'.
Arnie, Jesse, Bonzo, Bush. How can you all expect
To lead the world when the dregs are all that ever you elect?
Pull in, you fools, pull in I say and leave the world alone
Before it turns on you complete and tears meat from the bone.
Your foriegn policy is junk. Wherever you have trod
You've wrecked much more than you have built, then whimpered about God.
Well, take your policies, your God, your visions and the lot.
Sit home and leave the world alone. We're glad with what we've got.
You just don't understand a thing not from your middle west
And when you fail, you always do, you cry, "We did our best."
Your best was never good enough. It's all just like Viet Nam.
You lose, pretend you won again. Your world is a sham.

Your poem (?) certainly is a rant, but what facts do you support your opinions with? For instance, your opinion that "someone" feels we won in Vietnam? Please look over the whole poem and support it with facts as the rules of the contest call for. This is not the place for a unsupported rant. -

Certainly are way off base. Your "(?)" insinuates that my poem is not a poem. It is. It is a fine poem. I did not state any opinions. I stated facts. I did not state that anyone feels that the Yanks won in Nam as there can't be anyone that stupid left on the planet. My poem is a fine, factual poem. Your response is the rant.

It's really hard to watch too.
It's like living next door to a couple where the guy abuses his wife. Then his father comes over and abuses her too, then the brother, then the kids grow up and abuse her too. You ask her why she doesn't leave and she says, "He loves me. I can't leave him." and she thinks it's the same everywhere anyhow.
I realise a lot of it is the brainwashing you all get, but dang it all, there's truth out there if you look.
Truths Americans will never know.
-The Battle of new Orleans was an American ambush after a treaty was in place.
-In 1812 Canada invaded the US and destroyed their capitol.
-The Vietnamese people call the war with the US, "The war where we beat the Americans."
-Niether the people of Afghanistan or Iraq nor the Taliban had anything to do with 9/11, but the next attack and the next and the next they will thanks to US foriegn policy killing their families.
-Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction
-The world would rather have Iran holding nuclear weapons than the US
-The main cause of unrest in the Middle East is Israel, which would collapse if the Yanks would stop propping it up. -

Please let me be clear. I don't care what your opinion of our country is...I only care that the rules of the contest be complied with. I thought that was pretty clear in the rules. I did not put in a (?) to insinutate that your poem was not a poem, it was referencing the application of it in this contest with these rules. All that said, Thank you for justifying your opinions with other facts.
I may not agree with your opinion or facts, but that does not impact my judgement of who has won this contest. I spent 21 and a half years of my life in the military as a SERE Instructor. One part of my job was interviewing the returning POW's who were recently released from Hanoi. One of us asked a newly released POW, after 8 years of torture, how he felt about Jane Fonda. His reply; "I don't know if I want to kill her or "F*ck" her. But, I do know I would spend the next 8 years of my life back in captivity so that she has the Freedom to speak her opinion."

Oh you gave it to us good! I wish I could disagree with it all, but I'm sorry to say I can't. And that doesn't leave me with happy feelings at all. It's an election year and people are hopeful.. me, I'm skeptical, we could turn it around but we wont, we are sheep with blinders on being lead to another slaughter.
One butcher to be replaced with another, what are sheep to do? I think we may be locked in until something even bigger blows up our way, and that is just stupid, which we are.
