Chester Bunny's New Year (11)

Missing image
Chester was happy the new year had begun,
made resolution for bad things he had done.
Curiousty was Chester's middle name,
searching adventure for goodtimes and fame.

Peeked out the window saw it snowed alot.
just like that Chester's resolution was forgot.
Grabbing his sled he hopped up the big hill,
slid down the other side, oh what a thrill.

Well there at the bottom a big snowman stood,
slammed into it with his sled made of wood.
Then up the next hill and then down another,
forgetting advice given to him by his mother.

Now lost in the valley it started to snow,
snow covered footprints which way to go.
Back at the warren Chester's mother worried,
down to the church in the snow she hurried.

By now Chester was cold, shivering sneezing,
his lips were blue and his fingers were freezing.
His ears popped up as he heard a strange sound,
so excited he started to hop all around.

Church bells rang out to show Chester the way,
up the mountain he hopped with his red sleigh.
Hopping up each hill and sliding down another,
down the last hill to his worried mother.

Though mother was angry she hugged him tight,
took him home to get warm on cold winter night.
Mother knows best and was there on the double,
she knew Chester was out there in trouble.

Did he learn his lesson being saved by the bell,
snuggled warm in his bed, only time will tell.
