Life of a Rose

Missing image

If truths can be told and honesty strengthened
If trust can be earned and loyalty lengthened
if good morals are taught and values instilled
Small tender buds will survive and not be killed

Dark days and chilly winds will blacken the heart
But the root will have life and make a new start
Love will come alive when the darkness recedes
for roots still survive when a broken stem bleeds

With honor and truth providing a warm light
Virtue and loving trust will make the soil right
The seedlings of love are such delicate things
Only needing burden of butterfly wings

In this garden of life some grow and some die
Bloom if you will before the chance passes by
Although tended with pain and watered with tears
If only for a season be free of fears

Come on out of the dark and send up a sprout
Let translucent green tendrils come reaching out
Open your leaves and let your face see the sun
Let the world see your beauty before life's done

    You finest Piece Madam.

Look at the rhyme it chimes in truth and strong emotions.
The strength behind the poem is great.

    WOW

This poem is so inspirational! Thank you for penning this brilliant piece of art. I have to let go of my fears and spread my wings and fly. My favorite lines are:

In this garden of life some grow and some die
so bloom if you will before the chance passes by
even if tended with pain and watered with tears
and if only for a season be free of your fears

This is beautiful with its message of hope and imagery. I love the sing song meter you created with the fourth beat and the aabb rhyme scheme. Well done!

    Love,
    Amera♥

I admit I know very little of proper poetry writing. I write without rule or reason but rhyming comes easy sometimes. Thank you so much for the wonderful comment!
