You move too soon;
I miss your warmth.
Please lay back down
and comfort me.
You live your life
too fast, its true;
just slow it down
and do like me:
Ignore the world
and lay with me.

Those cats have such lucky lives, eh?
There's a cat in my aunt's house where I live. I know exactly what you mean.
Cats are just... unique.
I guess we can learn from them that way.
Other than that I have to say this is a lovely love poem. I remember a time in which the last two lines were true to me and someone I loved. Your poem made me sigh.

Oh, yes they do. And they know it.
Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. And applaud.

Nice thoughts wonder if it will work.....just tell the kids I am with the cats...

They sure do not pay attention when I tell them I am in the bathroom!
Thank you for reading.

This is such a beautiful take on the prompt.
It's ten lines of an invitiation to leisure.
"Ignore the world
and lay with me."
Very nice.
Best of luck in the contest.

I had a cat once that I swear did not move for eight hours. And, the two I have now will sleep anywhere: one likes the top of the aquarium.
