I see my reflection, in the thick sloshing red
I swallow the liquid as it thickens my soul
And remind myself she’s dead
She’s tucked beneath the pages of disease
In a faerie tale undone
She’s tucked beneath the darkness
Where I no longer run
My eyes have light in them now
Something she could never truly give
For her disease raped me
Of the will I once had to live
But now, you see, I have found my light
I have found it just beyond the darkness
Forever within the twilight
His voice is full of laughter, his breath condensing in the air
His love is the truest thing I’ve felt in years
His eyes, they sparkle, even though I myself cannot see
I know this because he has killed that disease
He took it within his hands…
That broken heart of mine
And mended it with the stars
And threads of moonlight, the ones that reach through lifetimes
For his eyes are the purest forms of fire
His soul the purest form of life
His love the ever present kerosene
To bathe me and set me alight.
