“Garden Tranquil”
Scents of the garden,
roses in bloom,
Heaven is now amidst.
Petals entwined.
Turning of soil,
rekindling thoughts,
sweetness' of perfume.
Strolling along my garden's path.
Thoughts appear winding like vines.
Rest me not,
leaves me to view,
the wonderments of it all.
Sunburst skies,
cloud filled puffs,
Soft winds to sway in my mind.
Tender mist,
laid glisten to leaves.
Early morning’s refreshments,
now arrive.
Wishful aura,
fulfilling my cares,
beauty is everywhere.
Reflections onward,
all things new.
Here in my garden grow.

P.S.
Don’t forget
to water the daisies
the heart you broke,
lies beneath them.

Oh man...these are good... while the first is almost a little cliche in some areas..the second is refined and powerful in its beautiful evocative in its simplicity and how a ready fills in all the gaps. Gorgeous penning.

LOL...Carol...when I came to this site...I knew nothing about poetry...only these thoughts circling my mind...the first poem was also centered...haha..yep call me a novice...ill admit...but what pleasese me most is how I have grown...Im not totally satisfied with my work...I have tried to master short succinct form...less is more...still with simple words I try to do the same things metaphoric words do but just simplified reading...anyway..my point here is how I have grown...and learned from masterful word sculpters like you...
take a bow...
as I bow to you

Mally, your first one, Garden Tranquil, reads like a lovely watercolor painting. It gave me smiley thoughts.
And of course, you know how I feel about Last Letter.
I have deleted all of my poems and they've been gone from here for a long time. They are nothing I'd want to repost anyway.
This is an excellent idea for a contest. Best of luck to you!

Trell...so many times I want to delete my early poems...something stops me...I plan to one day edit them...haha..nice thought yes..time to do it is another factor...I laugh at some of my stuff...I have grown...but still feel i'm not where Id love to be...I will see who wins the fight...futility or persistance...
