Dreams of Snow

I fell in the snow, so welcoming was its embrace
I felt inclined to join it in its peaceful slumber,
The silence as cold as the harsh air around me.
I was warm then; strange that sense of calm
When one cannot fight, the tanquility that comes
With stilled legs, and breaths
As soft as your cotton sheets, and the down pillow beneath your

Eyes, so swelled with tears, such restraint. My weak
Protests against my bed, my desire so strong
To stay awake; one more hour, or two, or three.
I do not need to sleep, mother.  But i felt her
Arms around me, carrying me to that place
I so feared as I slipped into serenity. They

Came to me too late, perhaps, and woke me from my
rest- from peace.  They ripped my body from my bed
But not my mind.  I still see dreams of snow.

I like. I haven't seen snow... in almost a year now. I loved it at first but then the blizzards kind of ruined it for me! I do think that you did an awesome job with this piece though I mean when a poet is able to transport me back to a certain time or place just through their own poetry, that's what really amazed me. Great job.
