From The Backs Of My People

From the backs of my people
A politician stands
Watching sweat made waterfalls
Quench the labour trodden land.
FREEDOM.

Our energy is running low
And the oil to grease our parts
Is almost gone.
The light from our eyes
Will dim soon after.
FREEDOM.

The citizens must come together
And overthrow the government
Power of the population
Crushing the iron mask of control.
Taxes?  Policies? Oppression?
FREEDOM!

Our voting system is a joke

I hear you and I have watched the voting system and how it has been done for years now and it is a joke .A pacifier to the people to make them think they are truly a part of the selection of our president . But last year and you watch this year it will all still come down to the elite group the rich in congress that will choose who that will be .It wont matter what we think . Why cant we all vote at the same time and then tally the votes but no they find out what our votes comes out to then they vote Dahhhhh

I like the repetition of "FREEDOM" in capitals. It really expresses the importance of the word in this poem. Good job on the write and good luck!
