Greetings all, and happy holidays.
I wanted to take a moment to officially acknowledge the end of the 2007 contest season and I couldn't think of a better time to do it than now, as we have come to the end of the year as well.
The first annual Raven, well, I guess I can't really say that it went off without a hitch. There were judge related problems throughout the six months we were active and some ideas didn't go over very well with our entrants (the feedback contest, for example). Be that as it may, I think that overall we (everyone involved) were successful to the reasonable ends that we sought. We joined together in an exercise designed to withdraw the best from all of us and I cannot say how proud I am of the overall results.
Points accumulation has already begun for 2008 and, for those of you who are interested, judgeship applications are technically available (just message the Raven Contest main account with your email address and one will be sent out). Also, the Judge Search 2008 contest should begin in March or April with the final date to come as soon as the 2008 contest year is fully mapped out.
I'll be moving items off of the main page over to the archive starting in the next few days as well as working with Northern Raven to sort out what policies and procedures we want to keep for next year, and what we want to change. We will also be on the lookout for new art of the coming year, so don't hestitate to give us a heads up if you see something worthwhile.
