Twilight Star

A tiny star once caught my line of sight
And it held me in a trance:
It lit up bright, and spoke to me
I interpreted its symbols and lines
And again, he left me alone.

That tiny star in this twilight light,
What could come of his subtle advance?
What could he have to tell me tonight,
Why is it me that he wants to see,
Why was it me that he chose to invite?

How could I have possibly known
What these symbols meant, these signs?
And why THIS star, from THAT twilit marquee?
What made him think I had a chance
Of interpreting what he dared to write?

I didn't care for this ballroom dance
Or the message that he wanted me to see
Because in this act, I found another romance
A similar beauty, but another kind,
Of which the night only did enhance...

See: in the light of which he so obviously shone
I felt, in me, his message did incite
Graciousness from his starlit throne
That he chose to give ME his gift of light

Dude. I just thought I'd say... "makes my brain hum?"

...definitely best comment on a poem ever.

I love it when poems make your brain hum.

      "HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM"

      ...

      It's 6am.
