End of the Tunnel

I'm just so confused
wandering over the edge
stumbling into the darkness
until you take my hand
and pull me from despair

is there really a light
at the end of the tunnel?
please, rescue me;
save me from myself

I'm gone; come find me
do you understand now?
if you turn back time
i'll be lost in history

is there really a light
at the end of the tunnel?
please, rescue me;
save me from myself

I've been running for eternity
waiting, quietly waiting
on a path of destruction
losing myself in the dark,
but then there you were;

there really is a light
at the end of my tunnel
you rescued me and
saved me from myself

Author notes

this is a poem about being ready to give up (literally) when a special someone comes to the rescue.

    really nice. I wondered as I read it if maybe you were refering to God saving you. I like the fact the reader can put whoever he wants in the place of the one who was your light at the end of the tunnel.

    This is great! It means so much, and you chose your words perfectly. Watch you use of full stops and commas lol, but apart from that. well done
