Rain

The dark sky rumbles deep
as I anticipate the most treasured sound
my soul can keep.

Pitter patter, could it be?
that God has heard my prayers
and sent the rain to me.

Here it comes, pelting on the tin
Loud and familiar bringing
goosebumps to my skin.

I close my eyes and take it in.
'This must be like heaven'
said my heart with a grin.

Sounds like the prayers have been answered, or the rain dance helped make this all possible, How some cry for rain, while others want it to stop. From drought to famine, we all want rain, in moderation. Nice write, easy to read and understand.

I'm appreciative of the sounds of rain as well. Love the first line, "The dark sky rumbles deep." Storms have a peaceful quality in spite of their thrashing nature. Cool poem!
