Wartime wasted, and
I did not see you for long enough,
yet felt the painful ecstasty
of the battlefield de l’amour,
where bayonets plunged deep in bloodied, desecrated fields
raped by harsh moments, but beaten by
memories of devotion, dedicated,
loving and cruel wars of time;
torn, true love turned
into this heavenly reunion. Smiles,
now in cosy camouflage,
where no enemy exits.

You are certainly no slouch as a poet, Mr. Adams, as this touching poem demonstrates. A deeply personal piece which tells of universal emotions and a pleasure to read.

It must've been true love, since you still hold it in your heart!
