Fire

They dance in the red glowing ball
their langorous lengths twist and turn
as snowflakes of ash swirl and fall
while branches keel over and burn.

The sparks crimson-spitting sink down
as flames spurt blue tops like a crown.
Red-gold drifts away into smoke
and smouldering coals cool to coke.

Author notes

The form is a Sicilian 3/4 rhythm with some dotted bar patterns. It is inspired by Rebel's "caractères at elémens de la danse."

Filled with heat both in the visuals of flame and the Sicilian beat. Wonderful and full of rhythm's passion.
