Waiting

Far from the shore

Silently in tears

Anchored in the pond

Waiting

A soft voice echos

Aching heart bleeds

Bottomless dream

Waiting

Deep waters silenced

As lighthouse beams

Soul searching thoughts

Waiting

Love awaits

Across the pond

Tears flow freely

Waiting

Renewed dream

Reach spread wide

Freedom deep inside

Waiting

Coda
-- Octavio Paz

Perhaps to love is to learn
to walk through this world.
To learn to be silent
like the oak and the linden of the fable.
To learn to see.
Your glance scattered seeds.
It planted a tree.
  I talk
because you shake its leaves.

a lot of waiting going on here...lol.
perhaps it's time to take some affirmative action?

    just kidding.

a quiet, longing write, chock full of the pathos we all experience.

    thanks for entering

Definately a sense of "waiting" about this poem... the tears, the frustration, the distance, the "soul searching thoughts"... The voice here is soft, almost like a whisper. I liked "Anchored in the pond" - so many ways to go with just that one line. I was wondering about the capitalization of each line as it takes something away from the general flow - but that is just my personal preference, lol. A nice take on the contest theme - thank you for this entry.

    the pond...

The waiting will be worth it my friend... you have expressed the pain and frustration of long distance love beautifully. Good luck in the contest!
