I know you used to like everyone,
And loved all of them.
But a bit of a blur

In your eye took this and made it dead.
So that's why I forgive you.
I know why you bit me.
You didn't really know me,
So attack you did when I came in.
All the blood I lost
Isn't as bad as not being able to see at all.
So with that said,
I wish I had known you before.
You must of been a kind gentle creature.
Years have washed away that,
And made you a bit harder to like.
Except for those who DID know you before,
You're the same.
Maybe beter.
I don't know why.
It's just what I think.
And since I'm on the subject of my thinking;
The day you die and go where you go,
You will go to Heaven.
Even if it appears to be bad,
You have good intentions.
And though all you really can see is sounds,
You see diffrently through the blur.

Author notes
Once in 2006, December I think,I was at my cousins house. Me and my cousin Josh had just come inside from skateboarding outside when my Uncle Byran was taking the dogs.
Now you see, they have a dog named Rupert. Rupert was given to them because my cousins grandparents died and Rupert would die if he wasn't given to anyone. So my cousions recieved him.
Rupert is blind in an eye, so he doesn't really trust anyone unless he knew them before he went blind. So I didn't know himbefore he went blind.
Back to the story, Byran was just guiding them but didn't have his hands on his collars, so Rupert took off at me. If Byran had grabbed them then, I wouldn't have this scar. But he didn't so Rupert bit me in three diffrent places. He almost bit to the bone on one.
So I decided to write a poem about him for this prompt. It seemed to be a calling. Maybe it was one. So we have All I See is Sounds.

I am so glad you told us this story in a poem and in your author's notes.
It shows real understanding and kindness to forgive the dog for hurting you. Maybe we all do that in some way and that is why people hurt each other, too. Some people are blind in their hearts for some reason.
