A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste

She took her preconceptions,
dumped them in a lumpy bag -
deciding conventional thinking
just made her gag.

If she wants purple ponies,
purple ponies aplenty there be.
Is that a seahorse swimming
in her glass of green tea?

Without limits the world
glows and sparkles and fizzes
when we concentrate on possibles
instead of lumpy is'es.

She will be a ballerina
or save the world from war and hate.
She will call the shots
and not rely on fickle fate.

Mind as sharp as well-aged cheese,
she sees circles in the moon,
and tells us that Jesus
isn't coming very soon.

Liberated lady with a notion
that not all things must be one way...
she just believes she must always
be liberal in what she may say.

OOPS! The word count thing... Not my contest so I can say that I loved your whimsical imagination in this write. Why DOES everything need to be so black and white, so either or, in life... Nonconformity rules!!!

This is a wonderful write from beginning to end...love the imagery and the meaning it holds...well done all the way through.
It is just a bit over the word count.

Great poem, but a bit more than thirty words. Would suggest you use this as a prewrite for another contest, and re enter this contest with a new write.
