Yet Another Pep Talk to Myself

And it's basic human nature,
When an individual stands at the lip of an abyss,
It's instinct:
To want to be in the light at the end.

But it only takes a blink,
A split-second act
To nourish starved eyes,
And look at the situation anew,
And realize the simple truth:

That the voyage through the dark, unknown tunnel
Is reward in itself,
And that having crossed the turmoil
Makes the triumph sweeter,
More satisfying.

I look forward to that day,
But I don't begrudge
The time it will take to get there.

Author notes

I love you, I'm in love with you, and that will never change.

How often people are quick to give up, especially when time is required of them...very beautiful ~angella
