Lighthouse

Nautical environment
fearful shadows creep,
hidden dangers lurking
waking sailors from their sleep.

blizzard fiercely howling
ocean spewing wrath,
subtle shoreline enticing
wary souls toward their death.

Lonely sentinel searches
reaching out toward the deep,
warning of imminent danger
across a dark, stormy sea.

Grateful arms reach out
toward that welcome, guiding light
safety beckons carefully
come home, be safe this night.
