The Muse

I
Youth and beauty,
Riches and majesty,
He was born in the times with,
Nothing but a trust fund to hand over his mind,
A jawline to match his fantastic style,
Shouting his savior,
And he's at her side,
And the demons are gone,
And the gun is still smoking,
The bullet's in the door now,
No one is dead, not a soul is hurting,
In the sitcom world, the words are fading,
And Calliope is dying from the ignorance,
Her beauty is fading because life is too short.
Life is too short.

II
Hamlet sighs and sinks into his soul,
Shakespeare lies in his grave, his bones,
soaking in the everlasting alcohol,

AND THE WAVES ARE CRASHING

Red tide, red tide,
Have you ever seen anything like,
Waves that crashed on bodies,
in death?

AND A WIFE IS SCREAMING

Bring me a son, or off with her head!
Henry is eating, gluttony his sin,
And his daughters are sinning and his body is failing,

AND WE HEARD THE BULLET FIRE

One mistaken soldier misfired,
On that tiny hill,
Face off, red against rags,
When we, when we change the world in anger,
We bring back democracy.

III
When she's pressed against him,
He forgets his menial problems,
Body to body they're warm as the sun,
When she moves her body with his,
He forgets his menial memories,
And together they are nothing but another,
Sensual desire --he looks miserable,

Let it go she's nothing but,
You'd give up light for her,
And he's not just another boy,
Would you drive for twelve hours to find him?
Would you fall to your knees and kiss his feet,
to try and get him back?

IV
Words they let me sell my soul,
Would you like to see it?
Lives they let me show my soul,
Would you like to barter?

You've got a lying tongue,
I see,
I've got a poisoned apple,
You see,
I'll cut you up into,
Many tiny pieces and you'll lay on top of me,

And we're nothing but another pair of people,
Who don't know left from right,
Because mother never taught me,
We'd be kneeling at the steeple,
And all she'd teach me is God,
Never taught me the rules of sight,
Never learned everything that I could see,

V
Shakespeare eats off of me,
Because at night I watch the friendships die,
Love can't last, he'll have to leave,
Emotions will only lead to death,

One, two, three,
We all fall down,

Poison, martyrdom,
Betrayal, we all fall down,

You first then me,
Black death, disease,

four five six,
We all fall down.

VI
Jesus saves those that pray,
Get on your knees and shout to god,
God,
God,
Get on your knees my child,

Glory to the Lord in the highest,
Glory to Jesus,

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

And we pray and we sing,
we chant, we're beautiful in our division,

And I never found love, until I found YOU.

Father Son and Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit Son and Father

VII
Crash, bang, boom,
Play another song for me,
Play another note for me,
Sitting in the back room with your,
Lyrical book in hand,
You write about love and hate and,

SHOULD WE CHANGE THE WORLD? SHOULD WE CHANGE THE WORLD?

WE CAN MAKE IT SPIN THE OTHER WAY,
WE HAVE THE POWER, LET'S DO IT NOW,
WE'RE A BUNCH OF KIDS REBORN TODAY,

Spinning in a whirlwind of bodies,
It smells like BO,
And his hair is too long,
And we can dance the more you play,
Flail my arms, let's let loose,
Shall we?

VIII
I had a dream that I would then,
I would look at her in complete satirical beauty,
She was a knowledgeable girl with the twist of a head,
And beautiful parted lips,
She was what I would call intelligent,
That's why my intention was merely to fuck her,
Drop her,
And leave her.

They say brutal honesty is the best,
Ha ha, haha?

IX
You're a writer,
You're a poet,
You aspire for anesthetic beauty,
Pluto says you listen through the stars,
Mercury says you're overbearing and loud,

Oh my darling, the stars are straight and tonight,
You'll win the world,
Tonight,
Your songs will save yourself.

Love, beauty, dancing,
The stars say you will keep on moving,
Neptune has a liking for you,
Neptune wants you to keep,
Keep making history.

lines 1, 2 of the 1st stanza are totally unnecessary...they actually hurt the genius of this poem. The poem was refreshing in its absurd originality...

However, the main problem I have is with the last line...it wasn't as impactful for me...and I know you could do better. Your poem just kind of was cut...there was no lingering in the middle of the literary taste buds of this succulent poem...

There is something missing in the last line, you got my hopes up about this poem when I read it, but the last line (or the absence of the real last line) was a bit disappointing.

Wow. I am at a loss for words but that may be because you already said everything worth saying.
