Fleeting skeins
of clouds
announce that
a storm this way comes.
Its arrival
makes the day bile black,
and absorbs time
into its eager maw.
Day has no time,
neither does night.
Time is suspended
in a cloud of raw,
emancipated fury -
clocks tick no more.
Time is sucked up,
made inconsequential
by the malevolent
whip cracks of ice.
May we deduct
these timeless hours
from our swift
and sure plummet to
death?
