Rescue me from this fraud,
through the portal of despair.
Grant me the sight within
to face my inner fear.

Carry me to the Raven's Tree,
guardian of the weak.
Keeper of stories untold.
giver of chances seek.

That I may find a sense of peace,
upon the Raven's back I'll soar.
Endowed with gifted vision,
inner demons shall be no more!

Author notes

Just finished this, thought you might like it. When my writing seems to be uninspired, when the well has dried up, I start thinking of others place. Places were our guardians live, almost like a parallel world. There you can face the mirror of truth. To see who we really are deep within.

An intense and interesting poem. I like the idea behind it. Some great visuals, especially the 'Raven's Tree'. Very well penned

    THis was amazing! I so related. The Raven is my guardian spirit animal also. I loved the image of the "Raven's Tree." I was blown away by the last stanza;

"That I may find a sense of peace,
upon the Raven's back I'll soar.
    Endowed with gifted vision,
inner demons shall be no more!"

Amen to that! I too struggle with demons that I will one day conquer and destroy once and for all. We can do it, my friend. We are strong and we have the vision!

Your Guardians will always bring you to a place of security and serenity. They are there, all you need do is call upon them.

I feel the depth of your need to be once removed from past demons. Simply let them go my friend. The longer you hold onto their taunting the greater the risk of them smothering you.

This poem is intense and frilled with much that I can identify with. I wish you well in the challenge.
