I witness the birth,
The foaling of new
idea, thought, imagination.
Born unto the parent,
Cerebral in form.
The midwife of ponder,
I assist in creation.
I witness the destruction,
Eraser marks on paper,
Scribbles through words
And the biting of tongues.
Buried in graves of,
Forgotten scraps,
Tossed in the garbage.
I am the inspiration,
Of prose and poem,
Lyric and song,
Stroke and medium.
I inspire dreams,
In the mother or father,
Who opens their mind to thought.
I am invisible,
Naked to the eye,
Which I hide behind.
I am there,
Working diligently,
To give you meaning,
And defeat writer's block.

I love the visual imagery you've presented to the reader here poet. It is easy to witness, you have studied his works, they show themselves well in your words. The opening stanza gives birth to your vision and the last stanza shares victory. Excellent inspiration from the prompt. Thank you for this entry and I wish you well in the comp.
