the resolve

in the new year
i want to decode myself
understand how each individual memory
has contributed to this current moment
and i want to find it myself without the help of those at work
the general public i come in contact with
i want to dissociate my fears
from the year that they started and welcome them
into my new body
more hair and better spirit
i want to understand the other side of the argument
and make up my mind on foreign affair
i'd love to see new faces up close
in a way i never have before
feel skin i've never felt
and deal with prior commitments
maturely
i want to witness newer stars
and take up studies
fall into debt but nothing i can't leave again
some day
in the new year
i want to resurface myself
and find which scars are mine
and which are yours
want to hear the unheard secrets
i haven't told myself and
resurrect old love in better people
this year i want to see a loss of you
and you and
feel free to dream again
other people
different geographical locations
leaner expectations
larger hope
i want to look at every option
and never stop to see the ones that work
this is my resolve
this is my new world

    man..man man man..

    this is absolute...
    completely profound density..

    it condensates my feelings...the things I feel that I can't even think...the nature of me..but you've said it..written it down..as you..and others...

    and I feel satisfied now.

Even without your characteristic imagery, you are just as much a genius at expression. It's so good to be reading you again!

    Very nice ...

and it works not just as a poem but also as a New Year's Resolution. I'd be curious to know if you really followed through.

I haven't been on in forever, and what a shame it is, because this is what I've been missing. Looks like you haven't posted in a while, which is also a shame. You are truly a work of art, as is every piece of writing you produce.
I hope you're doing quite well!

I'm a big fan of your work. I know I've never commented, but I figure my praise would be insignificant compared to what you already get from your other fans.

Just wanted to say that this was exactly what I was looking for in my contest if you'd like to enter it:

    justin is resurrected?

brother, when i travel the states, i will find you, probably not you... someone else but maybe something like your spirit, maybe a place you went, or will go, or have seen a picture of, but that is life, and life only.

hats off to the hopeful. my new years resolution is just to say the f word less, kind of falls short compared to this fluid piece of work. your poem is the shaking off of all things negative, fantastic. a couple favorites:

i want to dissociate my fears
from the year that they started and welcome them
    into my new body

decoding and re-writing that untrusting DNA.

i think, maybe, the last line could be a little stronger? i don't know it just builds up so much i feel like the last line should be the big whammy at the end

no matter, bookmarking this for certain. happy holidays!
