Light's on

A time where certainty is challenged by logic and reason.
There was a drunk man knocking upon a traffic light lamp post at about 3 am in the morning and while doing so a police car with two cops drove slowly by the drunken man and asked " hey sir, what are you doing making so much noise for ? You'd better be on your way or we'll have to bring you down town!" And at that the drunken man said, “Ooh! O.K. officers I'll do just that!"
Well 3:30 am soon rolled around and the drunken man was still knocking on the lamp post, but by this time the officers were a bit curious and had asked the man why he was still hanging around the same corner.
One of the officers shouted at the drunk man, "Sir didn't we tell you to get home?" And the drunk answered, “Well yes sir, ya did and I "am trying to do just that!" Well what"s the problem? Ask the other officer. The drunken man says, “no one wants to come down and open the door!" Confused and bewilder the two officer's reply and say, “sir? No body lives up there!" And the drunken man shouts out and says, "There isn't? Then why are all the lights on upstairs!?!"
