Velvet

You seduce me with
velvet kisses,
electrifying hands,
eyes and mouth etched
in desire
intoxicating me
with musk-like sweat,
throaty promises
whispered in the night.

We harness love and
take a terrifying ride
into the unknown
where love
dons a new disguise--

Velvet brush upon my brow,
arms that fold me home,
eyes etched with our sorrows,
hands that reach
across an abyss
to grasp mine.
