Hall of Mirrors

In the hall of mirrors
The face of God is set
Omnidirectional repitition
Where the eyes that burn are met

Translucent flesh that opens
To a world that's made of dreams
The occurring magnitude of life
Is welded in it's seams

Inspired by creation
For 10,000 days of pain
Vicarious for hopelessness
To come back down again

Colours full of emptiness
With hollow shells of black
Devil tell me where are you
There ain't no turning back

Genious mind from a flawless hand
Through a brilliant work of art
The shapes speak more than words can tell
If the end would ever start

I would love to see the picture which penned this great piece!

You do dark VERY well... I love reading it!! You use great imagery also, not too much as I find some do... but enough to get the imagination flowing!

Although I'm not really the biggest fan of rhyming poetry, I think you have done a wonderful job with this one here. It's consistent and steady and that's how rhymepoetry should be written

flow is here and there maybe a tiny bit wobbly, but that's not really a big issue here.

Thank you for entering the contest, I wish you the best of luck!

The rhyme and meter here is STELLAR!

    "Translucent flesh that opens
To a world that's made of dreams
    The occur[r]ing magnitude of life
    Is welded in it's seams"

    Beautifully penned!

Your words depict an artist of skillful hand. You too have that same measure as exhibited by your literary talent poet. This is Alex Grey. This is poetry! Thank you for this entry in my contest. I wish you the very best in the comp.

    Much Love & Light ♥

This is incredible. I'm not a fan of rhyming poetry but this felt...right. Just o be really picky, I reckon you should have typed out 'ten thousand' rather than '10 000', and in the last stanza you use the word 'in' twice, so spoken that part sounds odd. Aside from that I had issues picking a favourite part, which for once didn't mean i hated it all! seriously good job, best i've read today and best rhyme poem in ages.

Thanks for your comment It's a shame most of my poetry rhymes so I probably won't be getting many nice messages from you for any of my other poems ...

Anyways, 'ten thousand' would look more fitting, but, the reason I used numbers was because I was referencing the album "10,000 days" by Tool.

The reason being, Alex Grey has contributed alot to Tool's art, helped create the video for "Vicarious" on 10,000 days, created the album artwork for both 10,000 days and "Lateralus", and along with founding the CoSM, he is assisted by Adam Jones, the guitarist of Tool, whom collaborate together and inspire eachother to create amazing pieces of art.

In the painting "Visions" on Poetryality's contest page, both the god head and skull with a feotus growing in it are in the Tool video "Vicarious", if you wanted to see this amazing work of art in CG animation

      Thanks

Ah...thats a fair reason, keep the '10 000' in then. I'm just off for a trek round some more of your poetry, hey, you might surprise me
