Festive Spirit

Coming of Christmas makes our hearts feel so joyous

joyous thoughts of family, friends and New Year coming

Shimmering lights gleam through festive frosty windows

window sills and rooftops, jewel encrusted, softly shimering

Christmastide carols in melodious descant, on horse drawn sleigh

sleigh bells jingle, through hushed sleepy hollows at Christmastide

    Dear Sister,
This is such a lovely and thoughtful write, and I sense it is a reflection of you and your own thoughtfulness and tender care of those you encounter.
This form is a bit complicated and it takes real skill to pull it together into such a meaningful write. The complimentary background is excellent. I really admire how you have placed the image over the white weave, wonderful!

You have been Spotlighted by your Bandit Family today because WE CARE! We will continue to pray for you and your Family and wish you a joyful Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.

    Brother Dennis

P.S. Just a suggestion...you might consider double spacing the lines of your poem, it would be easier to read and look better, and would give more pause between lines for the imagery to work more efficently. Just my humble opinion.

A true Christmas write makes me just linger in all that Christmas means Your imagery is picture card as I think of what a white Christmas would be like as opposed a blistering hot one. Thank you. A classic Christmas poem with a very interesting poetic form Shelly A has created. Merry Christmas all the best for the New Year.

This is a scene we in the tropics are unable to see except in picture form. I have to say it is lovely and more especially when placed with your poem
throwing light on the windows and horse and sleigh. A winter wonderland.
    Happy Christmas.

Sis, this is beautiful, the images I enjoy most - the carols and lights. We had a lot of snow over the weekend also, the combination of lights and snow was so lovely to see.

I can't give you more any clappies, I gave them to you a year ago.

We're expecting temperatures up to 52 for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

I hope you have a joyous Christmas and a happy and healthier 2009 for you and your family!

We received an unusual amount of snow this week for the area I live, and this evening I took a walk in it. Your piece put to words beautifully the experience of walking past certain of my neighbors' houses, and seeing the lights and Christmas trees through their windows, reflecting off the snow. Enjoy your day in the spotlight!

Thank you very much, your words bring a smile to my heart...I wish we had snow here too, but it's great to imagine your walk - and I also love to see the decorations lighting up a Christmas window

      Wishing you a wonderful Christmas

A lovely write and presentation. Almost perfect form (windows last word line 3, window first word line 4) . Very good imagery, flow and tone. Lovely depth of feeling. Vivid descriptives, good word choice, alliteration and assonance. Well penned and much enjoyed.

I like this very much. Lovely imagery, reminiscent of Currier and Ives. I love the border, using the weave along with an illustration., which fits your poem beautifully!
