Life follows us
as shadows 'pon seas
we are tall ships, forging future
sailing by winds of time,
we speak in humble voice
to heavens uncertain
navigate ‘neath stars of faith
by light given all to see.
Life as voyage seeking truth
meandering waterways of
enduring love,
our words and moments
sent in certain hope, may
fill an empty space and change
all eternity; we do not know…
but thoughts define days
breathe vapor marks ‘pon panes of existence
finger etched remembrance; and life
prayer lifted from lips in spirit
make differences more profound
than an eager world may notice; creating
seas of change in our hearts.

Well done! The image is clear as is the metaphor. Interesting how you change the meter intermittently from a full beat to a 3/4 then back again. It works here because as you change the meter the image shows the changing definition as well.
