New Christmas Adventures With Cindy Dear
There was a blizzard coming from the Northland to Cindy Dears’ town. If it came, there would be no Christmas celebration, because no one, including Santa would be able to get through to celebrate. Little Cindy Dear had helped Jack Frost bring in snow last year, but this year she needed to prevent history’s worst blizzard. Would she be able to do this? First, she’d have to find her old elfin friend and get to the North-Land. Could she get there in time?
Here it was, the twenty-first day of
December,
when I heard the news--the worst I can
remember.
I heard that Santa’s trip might be
delayed.
Boy! Oh, boy! I was really
dismayed!
I went outside in my backyard
to play,
and to see if I could find my elf friend
today.
“Alvin-oh, Alvin! Can you hear me
calling?
Please come and help me stop
the blizzard
from falling!
Then I remembered the Elfin-
Transmitter,
Alvin said I could use it, if
the weather
got bitter!
I took it out of my pocket
and pushed
the button on top,
and out came Alvin, with
a cute little
hop!
“Hi, there, Alvin!” I said, so happy to see
him.
“If you don’t help me, our Christmas
looks dim!!”
“What can I do? I’ll do anything to
help,”
excitedly exclaimed the dear little
elf.
“Well, Alvin, there is a blizzard on
the way!
If we don’t stop it, it will stop Christmas
day!
“We’ll have to go to the North Pole
again,”
exclaimed my cute little elfin
friend!
Taking the transmitter into his
hand,
Alvin made a quick call to
Elfin-land.
“Help! Help!” Alvin spoke into
it’s speaker.
Then he pushed open it’s
emergency- beeper!
“Quick! Send an Elf mobile, as fast
as you can!
Send it to us from Elfin-land!”
Very quickly-just as he spoke
the words,
there came an Elf-mobile, looking
absurd.
It had the shape of an apple, with a
deep shade of red.
It almost shaved of the top of
Alvins’head.
Alvin pushed a button on top of the
transmitter,
and out from the elf-mobile hopped
Old Man Winter!
“Why have you summoned me from
my winter land?”
“Hi,” Alvin replied, “can I shake
your hand?”
“Sorry, but no!” said the Old Winter-
man,
“because, then I would cause you to
freeze,
and also cause a very harsh winter
breeze!”
“What do you want? Why do you
summon me?”
Alvin answered, ”Mr. Winter, hear my
plea!”
Alvin continued, in a shy little
voice.
Please forgive me! I had no other
choice!
Alvin continued, looking down at
his shoes,
“Listen, Mister Winter, to this
woeful news.”
Winter is good and all of that stuff.
But a blizzard, please! Enough
is enough!
“What do you mean?” Old
Man Winter
said! Is this why you
woke me from
my bed?
Do you think that I
am the cause of
this horrible weather?
By now, I thought that
you’d surely
know better!”
“ I will tell both of
you who to
blame!
It’s that Snow Imp!
Each year, it's
the same!
Every now and then, don’t
you see,
he causes a storm and
then blames it
on me!
If you want to stop this
blizzard from
storming,
so that it won’t stop your
merry Christmas
morning,
you both must come to
the Northland
with me!
Then you can stop him!
You will
see! “
“ Let’s go, right now ! Alvin
happily
said,
as he pulled his elf cap
tightly upon
his head.
“ Yes! Hurry up! I’m
so eager
to go!
We’ve really got to
stop this
hazardous snow!
Then all three of them hopped into
the red Elf-mobile,
and quickly sped off to North-
Winterlandville!
Alvin reached his hand into his side
pocket,
and found a compass, shaped like a
rocket.
“We are going North ”,Alvin assuredly
said,
” listen, have either of you been
fed?”
“No, and I am quite hungry,” Cindy
Dear said!
Old Man Winter nodded and took out
a sack.
"I hope this will last, until we
get back."
He opened it up and brought forth
some lunch.
They ate it and agreed that they
liked it a bunch!
Alvin turned up the speed
on the
elfin-vehicle.
Soon they arrived and
saw quite a
spectacle!
Ice caverns of snow
in frosty
white and crystal
blue
were shining brightly
in every
kind of
hue!
Aurora borealis was all
aglow.
Glowing, shining on the
cold wintry
snow.
Here they were in deepest
Northlandville,
and they came to Alvin’s
uncle Bill...
right up to uncle Bills’
window-sill!
Alvin yelled, “Hi,uncle Bill!
Please come to your
windowsill ! ”
Soon a funny looking
little elf
peeked out.
He said with a
little squeeky
shout,
”Hey! What’s
all the racket
about?”
“Well you see..” Alvin began
to tell the tiny, little man,
“ We need to ask you if you
know..
well, maybe.. could
you, would
you show…
..tell us where the
evil Snow Imp
lives?"
"He’s ruining Christmas where
Cindy Dear
lives!
How can
he do this?
Whatever
gives?"
“Well, you see,” said uncle
Bill,"
still peering out of his
windowsill,
“If you want to find this
imp,
you must look for one who
limps!
Yes, to have a tiny,little
glimpse,
you must look for an imp who
limps.
You must point your compass
down,
to the Nether underground!
Then listen for a blasting
sound!”
“ How do we get down
there ?”
Alvin said with a sad little
stare.
“To tell the truth, this gives me
a scare!”
“I have a better idea,”
Old Man Winter
said,
“We’ll send vibrations down
instead!”
“How?” Said Alvin, scratching
his elfin
head.
“Well,”,Old Man Winter
said, with a look of frightful
dread,” We’ll use my
vibration machine.
Now, I know this sounds a little
bit mean,
but this imp is the worst I've
EVER seen!”
He took out a huge
and hideous
machine.
It was colored sort
of a brownish
green.
He directed it to
the earth
below,
And aimed it down
beneath the snow.
It gave out an awful sound,
and turned itself
around and
around.
Soon, the imp came
up from
under ground!
“Stop! Stop that
terrible
sound!’
The imp screamed,as he
jumped up
and
down!”
“We will stop it,but
you must,
too!"
They could see the
imp was
turning blue!
You are causing
a blizzard
so very huge!
You must stop it,
you evil
Scrooge!”
“ What made you
think
it was me?”
the imp said.
Then he began to spin
around on
his head,
until he fell down,
as if he
were dead.
Yes,he fell down, as
if he
were
dead!
To find out if this imp
was faking,
They tickled him until
his body
was shaking.
Yes, the imp began to
shake and
shake,
until they thought that
he would
break!
Thus, they discovered
that
he was really
awake!
Alvin said ”Get up! You
fake!”
The evil Snow Imp got up
and danced
an weird kind of little
prance.
“The Snow Queen told you
where to find
me!
“If you want to stop
the storm ,
just look
behind
me!”
They looked behind
him and
saw the mean..
...the most evil one-
the evil Snow Queen!
She had out her
evil snow blowing
machine!
It was blowing out such a
storm,
That no one anywhere
could keep
warm!
“Try to stop me!” The Snow
Queen was
screaming.
Out of her machine,
tons of
snow was
streaming!
“You cannot stop me, even
if you try!
You CAN’T stop me!
Do you
know
why?”
“ Yes, we can!” Old
Man Winter
told her,
and little Cindy Dear
proceeded
to scold her.
Alvin took his water
hose out and
as the Snow Queen
continued
to shout,
he squirted the
Snow Queen from
its spout!
I'm fuming!I'm fuming!” the
Snow Queen
breathed forth.
From her mouth, green
sparkes of fire
fumed forth.
So,all the snow melted
in the
land of the
North!
The Snow imp soon
followed right
after,and
from
his throat came wild
fits of
laughter.
Alvin went forward and
turned off
her machine.
He was so happy, it
all seemed like
a dream!
Hundreds’ of little fairies
came forth,
and began the magic dance of
the North!
They were dressed
in red and
sparkling green.
They were the
prettiest fairies
that ever were seen.
They whirled and
twirled and
danced and pranced
the cutest
little fairy dance!
Through the air, their
voices
rang,
and it all seemed
magic as
they
sang!
Snowflakes came gently
down,
as they danced around and
around.
The earth was ringing with
the sound!
“ Christmas is coming!
Soon,
Santa will
come!
He will bring toys for each
tiny
one!
Toys for each and every
one!”
“Our work here is finally
done!
Now Christmas will be lots
of fun!”
Now let’s get back to where
we were!
I’m very cold here!
BRBRBRBR!BRBRBRBR!
BRBRBRBR!
They waved goodbye to Old
Man Winter,
and ran to the
Elf-mobile faster
than a sprinter!
“Oh, my goodness!” Cindy
dear
said.
It’s past time for
me to be in
bed!
Alvin said, “Get into my
time machine!”-
“Oh! This is really,
very keen!”
So, Cindy dear got
right in,
and faster that the
fastest wind,
she found herself in her
back yard,
playing, oh so very
hard!
There was snow-but,
what do you know!
There was just enough
To play in.
Just enough to laugh and
lay in !
The blizzard had been
stopped!
Around her yard, little
Cindy
hopped!
Snow! Snow!
What do you know!
Just the right amount for
Christmastime!
Christmas bells began to
chime!
Merry Christmas every one!
Now we can all have lots
and lots of fun!
MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!
