The rainbow tempts the ruthless,
Climbing ever higher.
The cloudless, blue sky - the limit.
The higher the climber,
The more callous the fall.
The muddy ground - rock bottom.

Author notes
Being from Ireland, the rainbow has an Irish connection.
There are legends (folklore) about leprechauns who store money near rainbows. If you reach the bottom of the rainbow (which is impossible), you get a pot of gold.
Also we have the Euro in Ireland and it's lots of pretty colours - blue, green, yellow, purple.
And thus, my rainbow metaphor was born!
What do you think?

Great job.
You know what they say about rainbows being the root of all evil... They should be banned!

I agree completely! And in order to get rid of them, rain should be banned in Ireland!

Gives me an image of climbing the colorful arc.
Difficult at the sides ( The Beginning ) but easier as one nears the top, Metaphorically speaking.
