Lights flashing
music thumping.
Just standing around
involved in a conversation.
Out of nowhere I'm swept away
to the middle of the dance floor.
Unfamiliar territory for me.
I panic and start hopping around
looking like a deranged rabbit.
But she doesn't care.
For some reason she picked me
from all the others.
We're good friends
but I never thought in my wildest dreams she liked me this much.
She sees how uncomfortable I am
and pulls me away from the dance floor.
I say she's an excellent dancer
and she gives me a kiss.
My very first kiss.
I'm shocked and confused.
We don't leave each other's side
the rest of the night.
I go home hours later
still dazed and confused.
The adrenaline doesn't stop pumping till a week later.
Her face constantly in my head
constantly in my dreams.
And I haven't even seen her since.
Please tell me what you think

reminds me of a friend. i like dancing with him... even if he does dance ever so awkwardly... you can tell he is having fun doing something he wouldn't normally do.

wow, what passion. I like this poem and it has a good swaying beat to it. Like I can actually hear the music. Thanks for sharing UNT.

great job -
How sad, to find that sharing moment, but to lose it. It's bittersweet though, because you did get your first kiss! I still remember mine, it was a rather awkward one too! We bumped heads, LOL.
Go look for her! -
