p/p...My Art

Missing image

The vision in my mind of thought

Directs my brush in hand you see

To paint the imagination of my dreams

Onto the blank canvas in front of me

Sometimes to far away places I go

And paint or sketch a plausible scene

Of God's dream works of existing nature

Traveling through earth, sky and moonbeams

Poetry that flows onto my canvas

Releases passion in my heart set free

The splash of the paint an aura of color

Demands attention of all who see

When you observe my painting in the gallery

A canvas portraying my heart and mind

You will stand in awe of my feelings and mirror

An understanding of your emotions you'll find

A picture os worth a thousand words.

Your art here is indeed beautiful and inspireing. A great way to escape by using the brush. I write, read, think, or sleep. Well written words in your poem. I go to far away places in my dreams. At times, I am sad to return. You are blessed as an artist and a poet. Good luck in all you do.

I am one who loves to be inspired by visual art as a writing prompt. It is easy to see you are one as well. I truly wish you had posted one of the works of the featured artist with this writing since he who the contest is all about.

In line 5 the word(s) should be "far-away" or "far away". I do know however, poetic license would allow for the use as you have it written so, I won't knit-pick. LOL

Your poem speaks clearly you adoration for both art disciplines. You paint a pretty picture with words here poet. Excellent work! Thank you for this wonderful rhyming entry, and I wish you the best in the comp.

    Much Love ♥

    poetry and art...

Lovely! Really ties the two arts of painting and poetry together! If you are as good at painting as you are at poetry... then you are a good artist indeed!
