Differences establish contrast,
reflect uniqueness,
that in homogeny might lose their significance.
Exotic attracts!
In nature there exists such diversity
as to be uncountable.
So then, is it 'ususual' that I should want you?
You are 'different' externally
in many ways, but are we
really different?
Mazlow's needs are not
gender defined? They are basic.
And that basic-ness is the
similarity that precludes
externals in attraction.
You're a neatnik, I'm a mess.
You're an artistic scientist,
I'm a scientific artist.
Spritually we have united
with such intimacy as to have become one;
yet an almost imperceptible
awkwardness sometimes shadows
our physical togetherness as we
explore the fit of our difference.
Will it then be the
synchronous need that defines us?
As the key and the lock exist
only because of the other and are
of necessity differently disposed?
Are mysteries in themselves
meant to foster the attraction?
Is the quest in the question?
Perhaps.
